Breaking Dawn 2 Fan Camp and Premiere: 10 Favorite Pictures

I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything that happened this past week leading up to the Breaking Dawn Premiere in LA, but so far just can't string the right words together to do it justice. I had the most amazing time and every single day was just one great experience after another.

I camped out with so many friends at Tent City (where I happily slept on the ground and brushed my teeth over a trashcan), saw tons of Twilight actors, got to thank Stephenie Meyer for making such an incredible impact on my life (I cried and she hugged me. It was awesome), had a phenomenal evening on the black carpet, and watched Breaking Dawn 2 in the same room with all of the actors and director. Don’t worry, I would never dream of giving movie spoilers, so I'll just say that I absolutely loved it and I know you will too.

While I gather my thoughts and sift through a multitude of pictures over the next few days, here are some favorites that capture my most memorable and weepy experience.

Even though this chapter of my Twilight life may be over, the friendships that I’ve made along the way will go on forever. I’m truly grateful for all of you and look forward to our next adventure.

My Quest to Cajole and Coerce @LeeMacDougall Into Becoming Twitter Follower #293

If you’re one of my Twitter followers, I would like to offer you my sincerest appreciation and say that I love every single one of you (well, except for that dry cleaning shop in Georgia. I have no clue how or why they ended up following me. It’s kinda weird.). Anyway, you may have recently noticed my daily tweets to Mr. Lee MacDougall, a fun and not at all pathetic attempt to get him to follow me on Twitter.

Who is Lee MacDougall, you ask? He’s this handsome, witty, and way too tall Brit with the most beautiful voice ever, who, incidentally, doesn’t follow me on Twitter. I suggest you temporarily overlook that fact and go check him out later at www.leemacdougallmusic.com.

I suppose you may be wondering why I ever embarked on this somewhat frivolous and potentially hugely embarrassing crusade a few weeks ago. I don’t know, it seemed like a fun idea at the time (and I swear, no alcohol was involved). Actually, we hosted Lee for a private concert and some sightseeing while he was in San Diego last month, and a conversation between Lee and Twi-Daughter Megan gave me the inspiration. It’s since turned into a daily exercise in self-entertainment and your witty, confused and outraged comments have made it all the more fun.

I’ve recapped my tweets below and welcome you to submit ideas for future reasons in the comments so that I may steal and pass them off as my own. Feel free to retweet and make this a group harassment project!

Hey @LeeMacDougall , here are a few reasons to follow me on Twitter:

1. It would make Megan VERY jealous!
2. I promise not to sing along loudly and out of tune at your shows, mangling all the words
3. I’ll rename my cat after you (it’s not like Nemo answered when I called him anyway)
4. Next time you’re in San Diego, I’ll let you drive my cool car AND pick the music
5. I know where all the good Ralphs stores are

It was at this point that I received the following tweet from Lee:
You know what that means, right? Game on!!

6. I know that I’m not perfect, but my Mum says that I am
7. I’ll design your first tattoo. (You like Twilight, right?)
8. All the cool kids are doing it
9. I still like you even though you don’t watch Dr. Who (*shakes head in befuddlement*)
10. I hate to brag, but I can recite the entire Greek alphabet in less than 5 seconds
11. Unlimited Haribo gummy bears and hot tea next time you’re in SD (no, the “hot” is never implied)

Then I got another tweet from him:
How can he not know that it’s never a good idea to encourage me?

12. I’ll bet One Direction would follow me if I asked them to
13. I won’t tell people your middle name is Elvis
14. I know the secret to winning a toy in the Claw Game
15. I won’t discriminate against you for being a muggle
16. The Queen would want you to

That catches us up through today and I’m now left with several burning questions. Naturally, I consulted the Magic 8 Ball app on my phone for the burning answers (as I do for all important life decisions).

TwiloveSue: Is it wrong to pester or shame someone into following you on Twitter?
Magic 8 Ball: Yes
(perhaps it misunderstood my question?)

TwiloveSue: Will Lee ever become my twitter follower?
Magic 8 Ball: Cannot predict now
(what??!)

TwiloveSue: Will I be witty enough to keep Lee following once he starts?
Magic 8 Ball: Don’t count on it
(stupid Magic 8 Ball….)

So, there you have it.

P.S. I’m heading off tomorrow to live the hobo life in Camp Twilight “Tent City” for 5 days with 2249 other crazy people. Wish me luck!

The Final Twilight Convention: Please Say It Isn’t Really Over!

I was so happy to attend the Twilight Convention this past weekend, but it was also very bittersweet to know that our 4 year journey is actually coming to an end. I realize that the Twilight fun will never truly be over (shhhh, don’t tell my husband that), but it’s never going to be the same again. Add to that the fire in Forks this past week and, well, cue the tears….

While this convention wasn’t a grand slam event featuring the full cast like last year’s Breaking Dawn convention, it still had many of my favorite Twi actors from prior conventions and was a great way to kick off premiere month. I had the most wonderful weekend soaking up the Twi-atmosphere with my dear friend @Twifixx. I’ve attended a lot of conventions over the past few years and spent way more money than I would ever admit (even if you tortured me), but I would gladly do it all over again in a heartbeat.

My favorite guest has always been Peter Facinelli and it made me so happy that he attended this last event. Other guests in attendance were Charlie Bewley, Alex Meraz, Tinsel Korey, Julia Jones, Gil Birmingham, Boo Boo Stewart, Bronson Pelletier, Rami Malek, and Brandon Price.

As you can see, I have quite a nice memory from seeing Peter (please forgive the poor photo quality. My scanner kept fighting me and it won)

Yes, he really is sitting on a Volturi throne

As always, Peter didn’t disappoint, telling many funny and revealing stories about his Twilight experiences and his life in general. He was very touched by all the fan support he’s received over the years and stated several times how lucky he felt to be a part of the phenomena. Over the course of the weekend, all of the actors got a little teary-eyed and said the thing they were going to miss most was the connection they make with fans and their fellow cast members at the conventions.

I wish I could remember all of Peter’s entertaining stories to share with you. I loved hearing about his experiences on set and seeing the loving way he speaks of other cast members. He’s such a great storyteller, whether he’s telling about pranks on-set, his experiences as Dr. Cullen, or the multitude of quirky things that happen in his daily life.

I also love it that he’s still an ordinary (yet extremely good-looking and charming) guy with a teen daughter that is not at all impressed that he’s in Twilight and who says his secret talent is the ability to immediately fall asleep on airplanes.

At one point he demonstrated the new dance craze he jokingly wants to start called “drive the car.” It was hilarious.

It was great seeing him so relaxed and in such a good mood, but you could tell that he was very tired. He said he'd flown back and forth betweet LA and New York three times in as many days. Sometimes he even forgets what city he's in right in the middle of a meeting and has to look out the window to remind himself where he is.

Part way through the Q&A session, Peter decided to forego the rest of the written questions and go out into the audience to give hugs and take questions live. The crowd absolutely loved it.

Later during autographing time, he got up and grabbed a microphone to walk around for awhile trying to get people to sing the first few lines of “There’s a possibility” into the microphone. Every single time, he’d first demonstrate the line, singing in an eerie, soft, high voice like on the soundtrack. So funny.

I’ll save my pictures of the other guests for a future post, but here’s a photo of the autographs I received over the weekend. If you haven’t bought “The Twilight Saga – The Complete Film Archive” yet, trust me… you need this.

And lastly, congrats to the winners of my first contest and thank you to everyone who entered!

Grand prize (Breaking Dawn 2 swag from Comic-Con and autographed Lee MacDougall CD): @katie_boberg

Runners up (Breaking Dawn 2 swag from Comic-Con): @CherylSab, @Robsessed_Fan, and @Smitten_Rpattz

Now that this phase of my Twilight life is sort of over, what will I ever do with my spare time? No worries, I’m sure I’ll think of something :)
